Doingmypart.Coop Contest
October 15 to November 30, 2006
From October 15 to November 30, 2006, Développement international Desjardins (DID) asked young people from 18 to 30 across Canada to tell us what they were doing to help international development.
No less than 234 young people from seven (7) provinces replied. They sent in passionate accounts of their commitment to solidarity and a more equitable world. After each entry was judged by the Selection Committee, 12 first-hand accounts stood out.
The two grand prize winners, Marie-Hélène Dufour and Jean-Sébastien Dufresne, win an international development educational tour of one week in a country where DID is active. The prize includes the flight, lodging, transfers, three meals per day, all taxes and the services of resource staff who will greet the two winners in the host country during their stay.
Both winners will also receive gift packages from the contest partners:
Radio-Canada International (RCI)
The Fédération des coopératives québécoises en milieu scolaire (COOPSCO)
Mountain Equipment-Coop (MEC)
The quality and originality of the contributions described in many of the other first-hand accounts made it difficult to choose. Therefore DID is honouring ten additional participants for their contributions to international development:
Each of the 10 winners will receive gift packages from the contest partners.
The Doingmypart.com contest is organized in collaboration with our partners:
Conditions: Participants must be Canadian citizens and between the age of 18 and 30 when they register for the contest. The contest ends November 30, 2006.
